ABOUT THE CITY OF BRASILIA
In the early 60's the newly elected president of Brazil Juscelino Kubitschek commissioned three visionary builders with constructing a new modernist capital for Brazil. Principal architect Oscar Niemeyer, landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx and architect Lúcio Costa as the city planner set about to create a place that would vault Brazil into architecture history with the Modernist Utopian Vision that became BRASILIA, one of the greatest planned cities in the world.
