The soundtrack to this issue is the early morning sounds heard in the garden of a California apartment building, designed, built and initially owned and occupied by the architect Richard Neutra. It is believed, Neutra planned this garden with plants that flowered at varying seasons enabling a year round supply of flowering plants tempting a variety of small birds to pay regular visits.
The Table of Contents features the image of two renowned young California Architects, Ravi Gunewardena and Frank Escher, who together manifest a new era of Internationalist Architecture. This work, defines residential architecture born at the birth of the digitally connected family. Ideas, shapes and resonances that have no geographical borders to define them, given rise from the instant sharing of a multitude of thoughts across borders. They represent what this issue tries to emphasize, a simple livable sculpture that provides a haven for a cultivated life.
